Friends in Low Places

I didn't know this, but turns out that Charleston is the place to be after graduating from Winthrop. So my job this weekend was to go visit the friends that all live there now. We had some major girl time and went over to Charleston Southern for the Winthrop game. It was a semi-close game, and it was nice to wear garnet and gold again and cheer on our Eagles. I really should do a better job at making it to more games that I don't have to drive 3 hours for. Winthrop basketball is nothing like the glory days anymore, but watching live basketball is one of the best things ever. We also went to dinner at this amazing burger joint and then went over to the Hammonds house where Ansley had chocolate cake straight out of the oven. It sure was nice to chat about our lives, talk sports with Brandon, and watch Summer giggle a lot because it was way past her bedtime. I'm so proud of all of my friends and how grown-up we are these days. Summer, Beth, and Heyward are real teachers, Shannon is leaving for Argentina in August for a year, and Ktb is an associate minister. All I can say is Winthrop sure knows how to grow em.

Shannon: "This hand sanitizer sparkles! Am I making that up?"
Me: "I think it's just the light."
Heyward: "What drugs are you on?"
Shannon: "No it totally does! It's pretty look!"
Everyone: "Yea it totally does."

Summer: "Look at their pep band. That's high school crap right there. They could've spent a little more money and got silver instruments. That's tacky."

Ktb: "Keeping teachers out past their bed time...hilarious!
