In the News

Twitter and Facebook newsfed us some good stuff this week.  Incase you missed or lack an opinion on these 3 items, see below.

1. NFL Referees.  Our Presidential candidates could've told us that they hate America or that they actually agreed on something on Tuesday morning and no one would've blinked an eye.  That's how close the media was to having a total meltdown over the Packers vs. Seahawks vs. Referee fiasco.  If you ask me (and you did by reading this), I'm thankful for the replacement refs.  If the NFL hadn't decided to at least get some jokers in there to run games, we wouldn't have 3 weeks of entertainment because the actual refs want more money.  They could've just held the season until an agreement with the real guys was met.  But then I couldn't see the Panthers go 1-2 and that's just not fun.  I do know that the next time they call for replacements, I'm striping up.

History: "Russell Wilson becomes the first QB to throw a touchdown on an incomplete pass."

2. Fall. The season is among us in 84 degree fashion.  But is it though?  I just don't see how you can look up at a tree right now or go outside at 2pm and say that fall is here.  My Facebook friends seem to instagram differently.  Side note: just because Instagram takes the cool version of pictures and can change something purple to brown, doesn't mean it's actually brown.  I would appreciate it if everyone would refrain from using words such as: leaves, cardigan, pumpkin, front-porch-sittin', (insert fruit name) picking, and any combination of chai/tea/spice. At least until the weather actually gets here.  Come over to my house though, and we'll eat some Halloween Oreos together.

3. National Dog Week. I had no idea that this was an actual thing.  But really a lot of people, places, and things get weeks or months dedicated to them nationally.  So it's really no surprise.  It's also no surprise that I'll take up a lot of space here talking about how great my black blob is.  I'm constantly amazed at how socially loving she is.  When someone comes over to the house, she is in their lap whether you've given permission or not.  Everything she does is because she loves you, no matter if you're a stranger or her Mom.  Wouldn't it be cool if humans were that way?  If everything we did was out of love for someone?  I don't know, but it's good to let that little booger teach me a thing or two.  To all the dog masters out there, let Doug brighten your day....

Eric: Most girls would be like "Let's stay at home and watch the Notebook!"
Me: "Oh is that what girls say?"
Eric: "I think so."
